Canvases are a powerful tool for developing, communicating, and refining business strategies, and are widely used by startups, established businesses, and entrepreneurs alike.
In StrategyCAD you can capture and describe any and every business entity in a canvas to deeply define, understand, nurture and communicate it.
You will frequently start with your Strategic choices canvas which defines and communicates your business aspirations, where your business will play / compete, how your business will win or succeed and how you will sustain your business, strategy and competitive advantages.
However unlike other canvases which are one dimensional, in StrategyCAD as you add your Market segments (target customers), value delivery chain, opportunities etc, rather than just being a single statement, you can elaborate and communicate these concepts in as much detail as you need at the time.
There are three (3) main ways to create a canvas in StrategyCAD™
1. From the side menu choose the type of business entity you wish to create.
For example, Market segments
2. StrategyCAD™ will then show you a list of the entities that already exist for that type e.g. Market segments
On the top right of the navigation bar click / tap the add icon
3. Complete the title and description for the business entity
All business entities in StrategyCAD™ are owned by an active team, to ensure they are managed and maintained. Identity the team that will own this entity.
Note: You can ONLY add entities to teams you are a member of.
Submit the details and StrategyCAD™ will create the entity and the choices or attributes of the entity, that you can use to elaborate and communicated the purpose, objectives and other details of the business entity.
4. The new entity will be added to the list view
Once added you view and edit the entity by selecting the view icon on the far left
1. From the Strategic choices canvas - choose the type of entity you need to create from that section of the canvas.
2. Click or tap the add + icon to create a new entity and canvas or the link icon to link an existing entity and canvas.
3a. If you click link icon
then you will see a dialog
with a selection of existing entities of the correct type
to add.
3b. If you click new then you will see a dialog to create the new entity
After you create the entity, you can then click the link
icon to add it to your Strategic choices canvas if that
is what you want to do.
